Rough week out west

Four games, one win and three losses: That’s the Devils’ stat line from this past week’s trip out west, with games vs. Colorado (4-8), San Jose (2-5), Los Angeles (4-1) and Anaheim (1-4). Tuesdays loss at Denver marked the Devils’ first since October 9th, when they dropped their opener at Carolina, before reeling off eight straight wins.

Through 13 games, the Devils occupy 2nd place with 18 points in a tight Eastern conference that – as of Sunday night – did not have a single team with a losing record. On a personal level, Nico scored one goals and one assist last week while recording at total of eight shots on goal. He was on the ice for an average of 19:57 minutes per game and prevailed in 50.5% percent of the faceoffs taken. He finished the week with a minus-1.

After returning to New Jersey, the Devils will enjoy a brief break before hosting the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night (7 PM EST). They will close out their week with a second home game on Saturday afternoon, taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins (12:30 PM EST).
