Devils’ struggles continue
More of the same for the New Jersey Devils and Nico during Christmas week. With league play interrupted during a brief holiday break, the Devils fell to the New York Islanders (1-2) on Tuesday night, before taking at least a point from a 3-4 (OT) loss to the Washington Capitals on Saturday.
With 42 points through 38 games, the Devils currently sit in 10th place in the Eastern Conference. On a personal level, Nico recorded two assists over the course of the week, while firing a total of five shots on goal and finishing the week with an even plus-minus. Per game, he logged 21: 32 minutes of ice time and prevailed in 55% of his faceoffs.
During the upcoming week, the Devils have four more games on schedule. First, they will visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday night (7 PM EST), before closing out the year with a game at Columbus on New Year’s eve (7 PM EST). The week then concludes with a back-to-back homestand vs. the Utah Mammoth (Sat., 3 PM EST) and the Carolina Hurricanes (Sun., 7 PM EST).
