Devils split vs. Leafs and Capitals

First full week of NHL action for the New Jersey Devils and Nico after returning from their stint at the Global Series in Prague. Taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs (2-4) and the Washington Capitals (5-3), the Devils secured their third win of the season while collecting points no. 5 and 6.

Individually, the week was rather unspectacular for Nico, as he scored his first assist of the season, recorded five total shots on goal in two games and prevailed in 55% of his faceoffs. Overall, he averaged 20:43 minutes of ice-time while finishing the week a minus-1.

Next up for New Jersey is a busy week with four games on tap, starting with Monday afternoon’s tilt vs. the Utah Hockey Club (1 PM EST). From there, it’s off to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes on Tuesday night (7 PM EST), before heading back north to Ottawa for a Thursday night outing with the Senators (7 PM EST). The week concludes back in Newark, when the Capitals pay a visit on Saturday night (7 PM EST).
