Devils’ season comes to an end

On Monday night, Nico and the New Jersey Devils ended their 2020/2021 NHL season with a 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

With 45 points after 56 games, the Devils will miss out on the NHL playoffs for the third straight season.  This one saw a young Devils squad race out to a strong start before showing its inexperience down the stretch. It also certainly didn’t help that Nico, the team’s new captain and one of its more experienced players, missed more than half of the season with injuries. In the end, he totalled 21 games while recording 11 points (6 G, 5A) in his fourth year with the team.

While Monday night’s loss ended the 2020/2021 hockey season for most of the Devils, the same is not true for Nico, who is set to join the Swiss national team for its 2021 World Championship campaign. The tournament, which will be held in Riga, Latvia, will start at the end of the month.
