Devils, Nico continue to lose ground
Another dissatisfying week for Nico and the New Jersey Devils. Thanks to losses to the Islanders (0-9), the Penguins (1-4) and the Jets (3-4), the Devils continue to lose ground in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Following this past week’s losses, New Jersey finds itself in 13th place in the conference at the halfway mark of the season, six points out of the eight and final playoff spot. Individually, Nico finished the first half of the season with 13 goals and 22 assists while being a minus-6. He averaged 20:56 minutes of ice-time per game and prevailed in 54,7% of his faceoffs.
Next up for the Devils is a visit to Minnesota, where they will take on the Wild in the fourth and final game of their current four-game road swing tonight (8 PM EST). On Wednesday, they’ll play host to the Seattle Kraken (7 PM EST) before closing out the week with a game vs. the Hurricanes on Saturday night (7 PM EST).
