Devils, Nico continue current pattern
It was mostly more of the same this past week for Nico and the New Jersey Devils, who continued their early-season pattern of mixing wins and losses vs. the likes of the Senators (1-4), Red Wings (5-4 OT), Rangers (7-1) and Capitals (2-4).
However: Thanks to mid-week-victories over the Detroit Red Wings (5-4 in overtime) and the New York Rangers (7-1), the Devils managed to win two games in a row for the first time this season.
Individually, Nico scored two goals this past week, while recording seven shots on goal. He averaged 16:56 of ice time per game and prevailed in 65.1% of his faceoffs. He finished the week a minus-2.
Following a brief two-day break, the Devils’ season continues with three home games this week. After a visit from the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night (7 PM EST), the Anaheim Mighty Ducks are up next on Thursday (7 PM EST). New Jersey then closes out the week taking on the LA Kings on Saturday afternoon (3:30 PM EST).
