
Devils start season with split
Nico and the New Jersey Devils have split their opening games of the 2025/2026 season. Starting into the new campaign with two road games, the Devils dropped their season opener by a score of 3-6 at Carolina on Thursday night, before notching their first away win by virtue of 5-3 decision over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday evening.
Individually, Nico kicked-off the new year with a goal and a assist in the two games, while recording four shots on goal. He finished the week with an even plus-minus, averaged 19:20 minutes of ice time and prevailed in 51.5% of his faceoffs.
The Devils continue their season with a Monday night visit to the Blue Jackets in Columbus (7 PM EST), before returning home for the first time this season. They will make their home debut on Thursday night (7 PM EST) vs. the defending champions Panthers, before closing out the week with a Saturday matinee game vs. the Edmonton Oilers (3:30 PM).
