Devils end good week on a high note

Strong ending to a good week for Nico and the New Jersey Devils, as they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers in Saturday’s NHL Stadium Series by a score of 6-3. The win was the Devils’ third in four games, after previously besting Seattle (3-1) and Nashville (4-2), before falling to the LA Kings (1-2).

The week’s highlight undoubtedly came in Saturday night’s Stadium Series extravaganza, which had the Devils don commemorative “Sopranos” outfits for their arrival at MetLife Stadium, before putting on a strong performance in front of more than 70’000 fans. Throughout the week, Nico recorded a total of six points (4G, 2A) in the four games, recorded 16 shots on goal and prevailed in 57.6% of his faceoffs. On average, he received 20:46 minutes of ice time per game and finished the week a plus-4.

With 60 points through 54 games, the Devils are currently sitting in 9th place in the Eastern Conference, two points behind the 8th place Detroit Red Wings. Coming up are four more games this week, starting with a road game at Washinton on Tuesday night (7 PM EST), followed by home game vs. the Rangers on Thursday (7 PM EST). The Devils will conclude their week with a set of back-to-back home games on Saturday and Sunday, taking on the Canadiens on Saturday (2 PM EST) before a match-up with the Lightning on Sunday (1 PM EST).
